2 words for you: Bacon Jam. Most delicious thing ever. BRC is comfort food with a twist. Apparently, the chef from Liberty Kitchen also started BRC. I understand the connection now.

We started with biscuits for an appetizer. It came with cheddar butter (yum) and bacon jam (yum x a million). The biscuits themselves were warm but maybe a little overcooked on the outside for my liking. But the toppings more than made up for that.

For my entrée, I ordered the fried chicken platter. They also had fried chicken biscuits which I may order next time. The platter had 4 huge pieces of chicken, the most delicious mashed potatoes topped with brown gravy and a biscuit. It came with more bacon jam and rosemary honey (more of a syrup consistency). As soon as the plate was delivered to the table, I knew I would be taking it home. I ate the biscuit for breakfast the next morning and half the chicken and potatoes the following dinner. At the end of the meal, I asked for a box. The waitress asked if I wanted the little sauce containers too. Duh. Of course. Wasn’t letting that bacon jam go to waste.

Andrew ordered the crab cake which he liked. Portion wise, we probably could have switched plates. He ordered a red velvet cheesecake to go – that was really creamy (I had just a little bite).

BRC is open for brunch too – I imagine the menu between brunch and dinner is fairly similar. They are a gastro pub so they have a large selection of beer and wine. The decor is pretty awesome too. It would be a good place for a small happy hour.

WOULD YOU GO BACK? Definitely.
